“Knowledge for Lawyers” is written by me, Helene Russell.
Organisations which rely on their knowledge and creativity for successful products and services can improve their efficiency and effectiveness considerably through strategic, proven knowledge tools and techniques.
I focus on helping organisations to improve their strategic knowledge, learning and innovation plans alongside their business plans, rather than come in as a consultant and take over.
I write textbooks and offer training courses (in-house, open and online).
I also give away a lot of free tips and knowledge here on this blog and through my “busy person’s monthly round-up”.
Of course, if you want some help with implementing a project or writing your KM strategy, I won’t turn you away, just give me a ring or drop me a line and we can chat about your needs, but my primary goal is always to teach your organisation to be self-sufficient.
Who am I?
I’m a UK solicitor/lawyer (now non-practising) and independent knowledge and learning professional. I have an executive MBA with distinction and I am Chair of CILIP’s Knowledge and Information Special Interest Group.
I help all kinds of knowledge intensive businesses, but I specialise in helping law firms. From my time practising law, my time in-house as a Knowledge Lawyer and my time working as an independent KMer, I understand lawyers and law firms and what knowledge and learning tools and tactics will actually work.
I am author of the Law Society’s “Knowledge Management Handbook“, published in 2012 and “Practical Projects in Legal KM“, published in 2015
I am also founder of Knowledge Network, the only independent knowledge-sharing and networking group for law firm KM professionals in UK and online.
